During the past week, Celtic FC have been linked with a move for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay.

McTominay has seen very little game time this season and with Solskjaer arriving at the club, multiple reports have suggested that the 22-year-old could be heading out on loan.

The midfielder has played in just seven Premier League games this season and most of them have been substitute appearances.

Celtic FC are reportedly the frontrunners to sign Scott McTominay on loan until the end of the season and now Solsjaer has provided an update on the midfielder’s future at the club.

Talking before this week’s Premier League fixture, the caretaker boss said: “Scott is working hard,

“He is a young boy I believe in. We are working on his contract.

“You know with injuries, with Fellaini as well and the squad we have, I am not too sure we are going to see any movement at all.”

The loan move for Scott McTominay always rested on the where Marouane Fellaini’s future was going at Manchester United.

Reports suggested that Man United are eager to sell off Fellaini this month and if the club manage to find a buyer for the Belgian international then there is no way that they will allow Scott McTominay to leave the club.

But if the club holds on the Fellaini then they might just let McTominay join Celtic FC on loan until the end of the season.

Now though it seems that the 22-year-old will be staying at Manchester United and the Hoops will have to look elsewhere.

Brendan Rodgers also looks set to lose Scott Brown after reports suggest that the Celtic captain has agreed to a two-year deal with Western Australia.
