Tottenham Hotspur will travel to Anfield next weekend in order to take on Liverpool in the Premier League and Poch might be without Eric Dier and Serge Aurier.

This game could very easily decide the outcome of the Premier League title challenge and if both Dier and Serge Aurier were to miss the encounter then surely it would be advantage – Liverpool.

Eric Dier picked up an injury during England’s first match in the international break and Gareth Southgate has already confirmed that the midfielder would be heading back to his club for further treatment.

Southgate said: “I think Dier will go back to his club. Hopefully, it’s not too serious, it’s a bit of a muscular injury but he won’t be right for our second game.”

And as if this was not enough, Serge Aurier became the second injury casualty for the Lilywhites when he picked up an injury during Ivory Coast’s African Cup of Nations qualifier vs Rwanda.

Initial reports claim that Serge Aurier has picked up a hamstring injury and it looks like the duo could miss out on the trip to Anfield.

Kieran Trippier was always going to be the first choice right back for Spurs at Anfield next weekend but if Serge Aurier does miss the game then Pochettino will miss out on a significant backup.

Southgate has claimed that Eric Dier’s injury is not too serious but we are yet to receive any official word from Tottenham and if the England midfielder does miss the Liverpool match then it will certainly be a huge blow for Spurs.

A couple of weeks ago, Spurs were involved in the title race but now it looks like they will be battling to keep their third spot on the table with the likes of Arsenal and Man United.

The Lilywhites currently sit on third with 61 points and Arsenal are just one point behind then at fourth both having played the same number of games.
