Arsenal crashed out of the FA Cup last week after they lost in the fourth round to Man United.

United beat Arsenal 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium 3-1 but the loss has caused a few headaches to Unai Emery.

Not only did the Gunners lose the match but they also lost two first choice defenders to injuries.

The first centre-back to pick up an injury was Greek defender Sokratis who fell awkwardly and had to be taken off the pitch.

He was replaced by Shkodran Mustafi and initially, the reports suggested that the injury might not be serious.

Now though things have taken a turn for the worse and the club have released a medical bulletin in which they have claimed that Sokratis will only return back to training towards the end of February.

The next defender to get injured was Laurent Koscielny who was caught by the boots of Romelu Lukaku.

The accident meant, Koscielny had to be taken off the pitch too and the manager later claimed that the Frenchman could have suffered a broken jaw.

The club have now confirmed that the centre-back has bruising around the jaw and is being monitored each day.

This means a return date cannot be predicted just yet but like Sokratis, he too is expected to be out for a fairly long time.

Arsenal will next take on Cardiff City on Tuesday and as things stand the manager only has one fit central defender.

This means that either Nacho Monreal or Granit Xhaka will be paired alongside Shkodran Mustafi when the Gunners take on Cardiff City.
