Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino is eyeing a move for Barcelona midfielder Rafina – according to reports.

Rafinha, a La Masia product was tipped for greatness at Camp Nou but so far the Brazilian has failed to carve out a niche for himself. And news has it that Barcelona are more than willing to listen to offers in order to offload the player permanently.

Rafinha went out on loan to Inter Milan during the January transfer window of 2018 and the midfielder was able to rack up a fine set of performances in the Serie A. The player’s loan deal to Inter had an option to buy for €35 million. And after his brilliant display, everyone was of the view that the Nerazzurri would trigger the buy out clause.

But now reports are suggesting that Inter Milan are no longer interested in signing the midfielder and have pulled out of the race meaning that Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur are now the frontrunners in signing Rafinha.

Pochettino wants to add Rafinha to his long line of creative midfielders but there is one slight problem for the North London club.

Several reports are of the view that West Ham United are also interested in signing the midfielder.

Pellegrini’s new job is to make sure that the Hammers are not embroiled in a relegation battle like the previous season. And for that, the manager desperately needs to add a creative midfielder amongst his ranks.

At present, West Ham do not have a player who can provide the spark in and around the attacking third and we think this point can become the trump card for Pellegrini.

Spurs have a series of midfielders like Mousa Dembele, Christian Eriksen, Victor Wanyama and Harry Winks who play in the same position as Rafinha which means that the Brazilian like at Barcelona will have to earn his place in the first team.

On the other hand, West Ham only have Manuel Lanzini and Mark Noble as their creative option so if Rafinha was to join Pellegrini’s side then he will more or less be guaranteed a place in the playing XI.

Barcelona have currently valued Rafinha at 30 million pounds which is not too far-fetched a dream for both Tottenham as well as West Ham.
