Tottenham Hotspur travel to Anfield this weekend to take on Liverpool in the English Premier League and if the Lilywhites fail to pick up three points in this game then they could very well lose their third spot on the table.

Right now, Spurs sit third on the table much like they have been doing for most of the season, but their North London Arsenal rivals are hot on their heels at fourth.

The Gunners are just one point behind Spurs means if Pochettino’s men lose on Sunday and Arsenal can beat Newcastle United then the Emirates outfit would leapfrog over Spurs on the league table.

Spurs news vs Liverpool:

Pochettino has failed to make a single signing during the past two transfer windows which means most of his players have played regular football and are fatigued.

And to make matters worse, the international break has brought in its fair share of casualties.

The first one being Eric Dier who picked up an injury during England’s first game during the international break.

Gareth Southgate immediately after the match, had confirmed that Dier had injured his thigh and was being sent back to his club.

And now reports are claiming that the midfielder could miss on the trip to Anfield on Sunday.

Serge Aurier also picked up a hamstring injury while on international duty but unlike Dier, the defender is expected to be fit in time and make it with the travelling squad.

Having said that though, Serge Aurier is not expected to start vs Liverpool and Poch should opt for a conventional four-man defence with comprises of Trippier, Sanchez, Vertonghen and Danny Rose.

Harry Winks is also recovering from an injury but he should be fit in time to start in midfield alongside Sissoko and Christian Eriksen.

Dele Alli played for England during the international break and should feature for Spurs in the attacking third alongside Son and Harry Kane who will play up front.
