Vertonghen Spurs

Spurs will take on Arsenal in the EFL Cup quarter-final this week and Pochettino will be looking to even the score vs the Gunners after their humiliating loss a couple of weeks back.

The Gunners will have home advantage but Spurs will be beaming with confidence after securing qualification to the knockout stages of the Champions League last week and then going on to beat Burnley at home.

But on the other hand, Arsenal’s 22-game unbeaten streak ended this past weekend when they lost 3-2 to Southampton away from home.

Spurs team news vs Arsenal:

Spurs will be relying on their attacking players to deliver the goods once again but Mauricio Pochettino does have a number of injury concerns going into the North London Derby.

The first big miss will Eric Dier who has been ruled out until the new year after having his Appendicitis removed.

The English international is still under rehabilitation and will only join training sometime in January.

Jan Vertonghen who was sent off during the first North London Derby a couple of weeks back is out with a thigh strain and there is a big possibility that he might miss the midweek fixture.

Serge Aurier has commenced on-field rehabilitation after a groin strain and he is availability will only be determined after a late fitness test.

Davinson Sachez has a hamstring injury but reports have it that he will make himself fit before the game against Arsenal.

Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama remain long-term absentees and the duo will not play any part in the first team lineup during the remainder of 2018.

Centre-back Juan Foyth is out with a hamstring injury but the latest update is that he has entered the final stages of his rehab. But like Serge Aurier Foyth too will undergo a late fitness test.
