Tottenham Hotspur travel to Spain in order to take on Barcelona in the Champions League and this game will be a crucial encounter for the Lilywhites.

Spurs currently sit second in Group B – tied on points with Inter Milan and the London club need to win this game against Barcelona if they wish to qualify for the knockout stages.

Inter Milan like Spurs are also on seven points and they take on PSV at home on Tuesday.

Everyone will be hoping Inter to pick up an easy win which makes Spurs’ match vs Barcelona even more important.

But before they travel to Spain, Mauricio Pochettino and his staff have a number of injury concerns to deal with.

Spurs team news vs Barcelona:

The first big miss will most certainly be of Erik Lamela as the attacking midfielder is yet to recover from a thigh injury.

The 26-year-old is close to full fitness but reports suggest that he will not be available for selection when Spurs head to Barcelona.

Centre-back Vincent Janssen is recovering from a foot injury and will only be available during the final week of December.

Defender Juan Foyth is also out with a hamstring injury and he too is set to miss the Champions League game on Tuesday.

Kieran Tripper remains a long-term injury with a groin strain and the club are yet to provide a return date for the player.

Midfielder Mousa Dembele is out with an ankle injury and will be available for selection only in the new year.

Spurs will have to defend on their attacking players to deliver the goods while Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping against hope that his defenders can hold off Messi and co for as long as possible.
