FA Cup final Man City vs Man United England
Wembley Stadium Premier League

After playing all their home games at Wembley last season, Tottenham Hotspur were all ready to move to their new stadium this season.

But it seems that their plans of moving into their new home have been disrupted for a longer period.

The construction of the new stadium has faced one problem after another and now the Lilywhites have confirmed that they will not be moving into their new stadium before the next year.

Spurs have agreed on a deal with the Football Association to extend the use of Wembley stadium as their home until the end of 2018 but amongst all matches that they will be playing at Wembley the match against Manchester City on October 28th is facing some serious rescheduling issues.

The Wembley is scheduled to host an NFL game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Jacksonville Jaguars on the same day that Spurs take on Manchester City and the NFL clash just cannot be shifted.

This means that the Lilywhites will have to find a new stadium just for the clash on October 28th and the management have a number of alternatives in mind.

One stadium that is being reportedly looked at is Twickenham which happens to be the home of England rugby.

But during the past couple of days, there have also been reports that Tottenham have requested to play the match vs Manchester City at the London Stadium – the home of West Ham United.

This news has sent ripples down the Hammers fans who are furious with the prospect of one of the London rivals playing inside their home.

But the reality is West Ham United do not own the ground so technically the permission is not theirs to give.

Spurs are also said to be looking at the Emirates and Stamford Bridge as alternatives to the Wembley as both Arsenal and Chelsea have away games during that weekend.

The Lilywhites first wanted the match to be shifted to the Etihad but the FA straightaway rejected the proposal claiming that such a move would ruin the integrity of the game.

There have also been talks that both the clubs want the game to be preponed to October 26th.
