Steven Gerrard wants Filip Helander at Aston Villa
Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard

Rangers FC brought in Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard as their new manager during the summer transfer window in order to revive the fate of the club.

And my God has the former English International done a wonderful job.

Steven Gerrard made a complete rehaul of his first team squad bringing in more than a dozen players during the transfer window and he is expected to make a couple of more signing in January also.

All this reshuffle has paid dividends too as the Teddy Bears have gotten back to playing in the Europa League and are also in a very comfortable position in the Premiership.

So after such a fairytale start to his managerial career, he was recently asked whether he would be heading back to Liverpool anytime soon – as a manager.

And the Gers boss had a very diplomatic answer.

Speaking to France Football, Steven Gerrard said: “Today, I am very happy to be at Rangers and happy to do this job.

“I want to give the best of myself for Rangers.

“But nobody knows the future… Liverpool is a very special place for me.

Steven Gerrard had worked with the Liverpool academy as a coach during the previous season and recently he claimed that he is still learning a lot from Liverpool’s current boss Jurgen Klopp.

It’s pretty evident that the Liverpool legend has a dream of managing his favourite club but with the kind of form that the Reds are in currently, we are pretty confident that they do not wish to part ways with their German manager any time soon.
