Ever since Rangers FC appointed Steven Gerrard as their new manager, the Ibrox outfit have gone on a spending spree and there are no signs of slowing down.

Steven Gerrard has already made six signings during the summer transfer window and the club have made it clear that a couple of new players are slated to come in during the coming few months.

And the Gers manager has hinted which position he is planning to strengthen before the new season kicks off.

Gerrard was speaking to Clyde Radio and he was asked if the club are planning to bring in a replacement for striker Kenny Miller during the summer.

To which the Light Blues’ manager said: ‘Yes I do, yes. That’s an area we are looking at.

‘When a legend goes out the door, and someone as good as Kenny Miller, who’s been a goal scorer throughout his career, it’s a very difficult void to fill. Big shoes to fill.

So it’s important that we try to get that one right. It is an area we’re looking at.’

Kenny Miller, 38, is is one of only five post-war players to have played for both Rangers and Celtic and he returned to Ibrox for a third spell in 2014 but left the club earlier this summer after his current contract expired.
