Rangers FC beat St Johnstone 2-1 in the Premiership on Sunday and with that, the Gers have moved within touching distance of Celtic who are at the top of the table.
The Teddy Bears are just one point behind their Glasgow rivals but Steven Gerrard’s men have played one game more.
The Teddy Bears went into halftime trailing 1-0 and only managed to pick up all three points thanks to an Alfredo Morelos brace.
But talking after the match, Gerrard was clearly not very happy with how his team performed and while speaking his mind, the manager might just have insulted St Johnstone.
“We shouldn’t have to work that hard to win at places like this, with all due respect,” Gerrard said.
“They were the ones who looked like they fancied a title race.
A number of fans have pointed out the disrespect that Steven Gerrard has shown towards St Johnstone during his post-match comments.
While the Rangers fans have come out in defence of their manager but Gerrard’s comments have clearly not won him any followers.
What does Gerrard know about titles races anyway?
