Chelsea take on Liverpool in the fifth round of the FA Cup and the manager has confirmed that both Tammy Abraham and Callum-Hudson Odoi will not be available for this match.

Tammy Abraham pulled up during a warm-down exercise and now Frank Lampard has revealed that the England international has gone to Barcelona to get advanced advice on his injury.

“I am hoping [Callum] will be fit for next Sunday,” Lampard said at Bournemouth, as reported by Goal.

“Christian is the same as Tammy; there is no clear answer. [Tammy] went to Barcelona, to have a look at his ankle for some more advice on it.

“We will have to work around [Jorginho’s suspensions in the league and Champions League], we have players who can play there. Kovacic finished in the holding role, Ross Barkley, Mason Mount, Billy Gilmour, there are solutions and there might be opportunities for other players.”

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was on the bench during Chelsea’s 2-2 draw vs Bournemouth and there had been whispers that the player could be in line to start against Liverpool.

But the manager has hinted that Loftus-Cheek’s presence in the starting XI on Tuesday might be a very thin possibility.

“[Loftus-Cheek] may get in the Under-23s game on Monday, he missed the opportunity here, he had a small calf injury a week or two ago which stopped him playing in the Under-23s game that I wanted him to and I would like to see him complete a whole game.

“It wouldn’t be fair on him to bring him on for 15 minutes and it probably wouldn’t be the right thing for the team at the moment.

“Once he shows he can go through a game, he will probably be back in.”
