Here’s how Arsenal can match up with Liverpool this weekend: Agree or not?

0

The top two sides in the Premier League face off against each other as Arsenal take Liverpool at Anfield this Saturday.

Liverpool and Arsenal are the only two sides who have managed to pick up wins in each of their games of the new season with Anfield outfit also lifting the UEFA Super Cup by beating Chelsea in Istanbul.

So on paper, it should be an even contest but experts feel that Liverpool go into this match as favourites since they are a more cohesive side as compared to the Gunners and they also have a more fearsome attacking lineup.

But speaking before this top of the table clash, Gunners forward Pierre Emerick Aubameyang has claimed that the Arsenal front-three have the firepower and talent to match up to the likes of Sadio Mane and Salah.

“As we’ve seen from last season, Liverpool play with three up front and they play very well. Why not us? I think we can do it,” Aubameyang told Sky Sports.

“It will be a tough game against them. They are great players. They always try to go forward and try to get goals and assist each other. They are one of the best trios in the world.

“I see a lot of similarities. Pepe and me, we are quick players like Mane and Salah, while Laca is a player who can keep the ball and is really good with his feet like Firmino.

“So yes, we can say we are close enough. I think we can do it.

“First of all, he[Nicolas Pepe] speaks French so it will be easy for him to settle in and play with us.

“He only started training with us a few weeks ago but it’s good to have him with us. He’s started well.

“Last season he was amazing. He’ll bring us speed and excellent finishing, and that’s good for us.”

Arsenal summer signing Nicolas Pepe has started on the bench for the opening two games of the new season but it is almost certain that the winger will be handed his first start when the North London outfit play at Anfield.
