Arsenal were a club in dismay when Unai Emery was sacked a couple of weeks ago and it’s safe to say that things haven’t improved much even under new boss Mikel Arteta.

The Gunners have managed to pick up just one win out of their five Premier League matches meaning they are just about hanging onto their 10th spot on the table.

But while the performances on the pitch haven’t seen a considerable bump but the players’ relationship with the home fans have undoubtedly gotten better.

There had been times this season when the Gunners have been booed and jeered off the pitch under their old boss but after the draw vs the Blades, Arteta was quick to acknowledge that the fans were right behind the players.

‘The fans were terrific,’ he told Arsenal Player via Daily Mail.

‘They were right behind the team and they appreciated every action as we were pushing them.

‘I’m so thankful to them because compared to how it was a month ago, I think it’s completely different.

‘We have to keep trying to convince them and encouraging them to keep doing it, and hopefully, they can deserve and enjoy more good results.’

Even defender Shkodran Mustafi has expressed that the Arsenal players have been playing as a cohesive unit right now.

‘I feel that we are united,’ he said.

‘I think we stay together and the dressing room has always been top during good and bad periods.

‘That’s the only way to get out of it and I think if we want to be successful, we need to stick together – players, staff and everyone at the club.

‘Obviously, all the people that come to the games, we want them to be happy but it’s always good when a game like this finishes and you go round and applaud and they are too. It shows that we are united.’
