Two games in a row Tino Livramento has kept Kyle Walker-Peters on the bench and after his stellar performance against Manchester United, the teenager has clearly justified his manager’s selection choices.

The 18-year-old was one of the standout players for the Saints as they held Manchester United to a 1-1 draw at home on Sunday but Hasenhuttl has made it clear that the youngster should not be overhyped so early on in the season.

The manager said after the match, as quoted: “At first I must say I am happy for him and for us, for us as a club we get one of the best talented youngsters in England.

“We know he has a lot of potential, he has made now two games, don’t hang him too high.

“I know how quick people are starting to lift him but he has a lot of things to learn.

“But he has everything, he has the body, the speed, the quality on the ball. This is a good combination and it’s on us to work with him.”

Tino Livramento got a rating of 7.6/10 at Fotmob as he had a passing accuracy rate of 86%.

He had the task to stop Paul Pogba on the right-hand side of defence, something which he did perfectly. And just as an added bonus, he also kept Jadon Sancho at bay during the final quarter of the match. He won six duels throughout the match and made two clearances.

Tino Livramento joined Southampton from the Chelsea U23 side this summer and after his first two performances, the youngster has been tipped to become one of the surprise packages of the 2021/22 season.

The fine performance against Manchester United will be a big confidence booster for the full-back but he cannot afford to sit back and bask in his laurels since Southampton have to face teams like West Ham United, Man City and Chelsea within the next one-and-a-half month.
