Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has been tipped by many to be sacked during the current international break.
The Blues have been having a very mediocre season and after they lost to Everton last weekend, multiple publications claimed that Roman Abramovich is all ready to push the Italian out of the club.
The rumours had it that the Blues owner will be using the break to find an ideal replacement and as soon as everything is in place Maurizio Sarri will be sacked.
But though it looks like things could turn out to be a bit different.
Recent reports are claiming Roman Abramovich is in no hurry to sack Maurizio Sarri and the owner is willing to wait until the end of the season.
Abramovich is said to be a firm believer in Sarri’s plans which is one of the main reasons why the former Napoli boss is being given so much time at Stamford Bridge.
Maurizio Sarri is capable of playing the brand of attacking football that Abramovich wants to see at the club and hence the Italian still has his job.
But this trust is not going to last forever.
As per reports, there are two things which are likely put Maurizio Sarri on the bad books of the Chelsea owner.
The first one would be if the Blues fail to finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
And the second one would be if they crash out of the Europa League.
While these might look two separate conditions but its pretty clear that Roman Abramovich wants to see the Champions League anthem playing at Stamford Bridge next season.
Finishing in the top four would hand them that chance and so too will winning the Europa League.
While clubs like Man United and Arsenal are also fighting for the fourth place on the league table but in the Europa League, there aren’t too many big teams left.
Maurizio Sarri will surely be looking to win this competition and they should also move into the semi-finals quite easily since they will face Slavia Praha in the quarters next month.
