Unai Emery is under tremendous pressure and there are numerous reports which suggest the Spaniard could be sacked by Arsenal.

The Gunners dropped points once again this time drawing vs Southampton but in reality they should have lost the match even had it not been for Lacazette’s late goal.

The Saints were leading the match 2-1 and it was the Frenchman who scored the equaliser in the 96th minute to save Arsenal’s blushes.

So naturally as soon as the final whistle blew, the team was heckled and booed by the homes support but surprisingly, Unai Emery chose to keep a brave face despite the poor result.

Speaking after the match, the manager claimed the management are still standing by him despite the dismal outings and it’s now up to him to bring the best out of his players.

“The club are supporting me every day and also I have a responsibility,” Unai Emery said[as quoted].

“I know I can do better, I can take more performances with the players and I’m going to try to do that. Now my job is to analyse, to try to move on with confidence with the players.

“It’s difficult but we need to move on in the next days. After analysing that match we are going to play at home again on Thursday, prepare as well as possible.

“We know, and I know, that we need to connect with our supporters.

“That’s an example of how[dismay] they felt. They felt the point was not enough. Our performance, individually and collectively, was about achieving the victory.

“We are frustrated and we understand the supporters as well. We lost an opportunity to connect with our supporters because they helped us.

“We drew at the last moment but it’s not enough. Really, we can be disappointed and the fans also, and me, with the result.”
