Manchester United beat Watford 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday and with that, they have momentarily moved above Arsenal on the Premier League table.

But one big miss during the match was centre-back Victor Lindelof.

When the teamsheet was revealed before the match, everyone was a bit confused to see the Swede missing out and in his place, Phil Jones was partnering Chris Smalling.

And speaking about the absence of Victor Lindelof, Solskjaer claimed that the defender was missing due to personal reasons and not due to an injury.

“It is a good team we have put out. There are still a couple that we are still nurturing,” he told MUTV.

“Jesse and Romelu are yet to play a full game yet, Victor is not injured, he had some issues.

“So it is good, the training week has been really good. Good focus, good intensity. It looks alright.”

Personal reasons could mean a wide variety of terms and initially, everyone thought, Victor Lindelof was absent because of his wife’s pregnancy.

His wife is due for delivery during the early days of April and most people felt, Victor Lindelof had already become a father hence he was given the day off.

Now though, it looks like the centre-back was missing from action for a completely different reason.

Reports have claimed that Victor Lindelof was missing as he received death threats for missing out on Sweden’s matches during the international break.

Yes, death threats for missing an international game.

“I have not followed it so much but focused on what has been important to me and that is Maja. People always wonder what lies behind things,” Lindelof told Swedish channel Viasat.

“What I cannot understand is how people cannot respect that is a personal reason. For me, it is quite sick that you can not only respect it and release it.”

Hopefully, this is not a big deal and Victor Lindelof will be back in action when Man United take on Wolves midweek.
