Wayne Rooney played his final competitive game for England last week as he came on as a second-half substitute against the United States.

Wayne Rooney replaced Jesse Lingard and played for about 30 minutes.

And during his time on the pitch, the Man United legend showed that he can still mingle with the young boys.

But the DC United forward has made it clear that he has no intentions of returning to England anytime soon.

And while talking to his former club’s website, Wayne Rooney has revealed that he intends to get into coaching sometime in the future.

Wayne Rooney told Manchester United’s website: “Yeah, it is something I am passionate about and I want to do.

“Obviously, I need to complete my badges, which I am doing over in the States. Hopefully, by the time I come back to England, I will have them completed and be in a position to accept or reject any offers I get.

“There is always time. You have got time to do TV, if that is the way you want to go. I think everyone is different. I would prefer to give coaching or management a go.

“If it doesn’t work out then I am sure there would be opportunities to do TV and whatever feels right for you.”

Wayne Rooney made his debut for the Three Lions way back in 2003 and has gone on to play 120 games for the national team – scoring 53 goals.

The forward is currently the record goalscorer for both England and Manchester United. He has managed to win every possible trophy with the Red Devils but his trophy cabinet with the Three Lions remains very much empty.

Despite that, the England fans all agree in one voice that Wayne Rooney is the best thing that has happened to the country since the new millennium.
