West Ham United have been keeping tabs on Andre Gomes for some months now but up until now, the Hammers were way down the pecking order.

Andre Gomes joined Barcelona n 2016 but since then the midfielder has failed to carve out a niche for himself in the first XI.

During the 2018-19 season, the Portuguese had been sent out on loan to Premier League club Everton and he has ended up having a fine season.

This past campaign, Andre Gomes has played in 27 games of the Toffees scoring one and making one goal for the Goodison Park outfit.

Everton have reportedly been impressed with his performance and want to bring him onboard permanently this summer.

While Barcelona are ready to offload him but Everton might not be the club who get to sign him eventually.

Up until now, it was Spurs who were deemed the favourites to sign the 25-year-old from Barcelona but now if recent reports are to be believed then the Lilywhites have pulled out of the deal.

Pochettino is no longer interested in signing him and has chosen not to pursue him during the summer.

This though puts West Ham United in pole position to sign him and that too at a very cheaper rate.

Barcelona are demanding somewhere around £30 million for Andre Gomes but given that no major clubs are currently interested in signing him, the Hammers feel that a bid of around £25 million should be enough.

While some rumours have claimed that Arsenal might try and pursue Andre Gomes but that now looks like a far fetched dream especially after the Gunners failed to get back into the Champions League.

Arsenal will be playing in the Europa League now which means Emery will have only around £45 million to spend. And with this transfer budget, it will be very hard for Arsenal to match the spending of West Ham United.
