West Ham United have already signed six players during the summer transfer window and look all set to make their seventh in the form of Felipe Anderson from Lazio.

Anderson has reportedly completed his medical with the official announcement scheduled to be made in the next 48 to 72 hours. And now with things falling in the right place, new boss Manuel Pellegrini is planning to bring in a new defender to into his squad.

If reports are to be believed then West Ham United have tabled a bid for Barcelona centre-back Yerry Mina.

Mina joined the Catalans in January from Brazilian side Palmeiras for €11.8 million but the 23-year-old has since then made just five appearances for the first team.

But now it seems that Barcelona are looking to release the player during the summer and the Premier League seems to be his next destination.

Along with West Ham, Leicester City and Everton have also tabled bids for the defender so Barcelona and Yerry Mina now have to make a choice.

Spanish newspaper Sport suggests that all the three bids are in the region of 25 million pounds so if the Hammers are serious about getting Yerry Mina then they have to offer something different.

The 23-year-old recently claimed that he was hungry for playing time and wants to be with a team where he can play regularly.

Yerry Mina said: “I want to make the best decision, but being calm is the most important thing,

“I want a team where I’m calm and can receive minutes.”

So if Manuel Pellegrini wants the defender at the London Stadium then the manager will have to convince him that he does have a first-team role at the club.

Yerry Mina has a release clause of a 100 million on his current contract but Barcelona are showing no signs of demanding that much money.

But with West Ham, Leicester and Everton bidding in the region of 25 million pounds, the La Liga outfit have chalked out a base price for Yerry Mina so if sense persists then they will try and hold out as long as possible in order to inflate the price.
