Chelsea host West Ham United in the Premier League on Monday and Sarri’s men should pick up three points without much fuss.

The Blues have lost just once in their past five games while West Ham United have been one of the most inconsistent sides in the league this season.

So to be really honest, even Manuel Pellegrini would know that picking up a win at Stamford Bridge would be nothing short of a miracle.

But according to Paul Merson though, the luck could very well favour West Ham United and they could manage to nick something off the Monday night fixture.

“I expect Chelsea to win comfortably, but how many will be thinking about their Europa League quarter-final first leg on Thursday?” Merson told Sky Sports.

“Especially the manager as he hasn’t won anything. Coming fourth in the league won’t make a difference to him but winning the Europa is massive, so it will be interesting to see how he sets up.

“He has an excuse with his team selection because he could turn around and say he is looking at Thursday.

“If you were him[Manuel Pellegrini] that’s what you would be looking at. I think they might play their strongest team on Thursday.”

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri will most certainly have one eye on their Europa League clash where they have to travel to Prague in order to play against Slavia.

And this ultra-important fixture could very well force Chelsea to lose sight of their immediate goal and West Ham United might just walk out of the Bridge with something to show for their efforts.
