West Ham United have had a long-standing interest on AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie and they are expected to make a move once again this summer – as per reports.

Franck Kessie joined Milan permanently in 2019 from Atalanta and in the second half of the season he has looked a completely different player ever since Stefano Pioli has started using him in a slightly defensive role.

But with a change of managerial guard expected at Milan this summer, there’s every chance the new manager might not view Franck Kessie the same way and with some big clubs interested in sign, the Serie A outfit might look to cash in on him.

The Hammers tried to sign the midfielder last summer as well but failed to do so and it seems like they want to give it another shot this year despite strong interest from the likes of Arsenal and post notably Wolves.

With Mark Noble getting older, Franck Kessie could be the perfect partner to Declan Rice but getting their hands on the Milan man will not be so easy.

There are a lot of things which have to perfectly fall into place in order for the Hammers to secure the signing, the first and most basic thing being the importance of Kessie to Milan.

So far this season, the 23-year-old has played in 23 Serie A games for the San Siro outfit but if they do bring in a new manager, the player will have to prove his worth all over again.

And some people feel instead of doing that, he might choose to move to the Premier League – a league where he has always dreamt of playing.

The other major problem for West Ham United is the interest from Wolves and if Santo is serious about signing the Ivorian then the Hammers might be pushed onto the back foot since Wolves right now are fighting for a Champions League spot while Moyes’ side are dwindling in mediocracy.

AC Milan paid €24 million for the services of Franck Kessie meaning they will surely want to make a hefty profit from the player’s sale in the summer and given the current pandemic situation it remains to be seen just how much West Ham United and Wolves are willing to spend in the summer.
