Manchester City beat Manchester United in the Manchester Derby this Sunday meaning the Citizens are now two points clear at the top of the table.

Pep Guardiola’s side took the lead through a David Silva goal early on in the first half but after that Man United managed to get hold of the game and avoided being opened up at the back.

With the second half starting, everyone thought Man United would shift gears and try and make a comeback.




But it was Sergio Aguero who took matters into his own hands and gave Man City a 2-0 lead.




And just when it was looking like a regulation win, Ederson Moraes gave away a penalty and Anthony Martial converted from the penalty spot.

What followed was a string of pressure from Manchester United until Ilkay Gundogan scored the third goal for City.




After the final whistle, Pep Guardiola walked straight onto the pitch and chose to have a few words with Raheem Sterling.








Raheem Sterling has been in superb form for City this season which has been rewarded with a new lucrative contract.

And during the Derby too, the English International was in fine form.




But looking at Pep Guardiola’s conversation with Raheem Sterling right after the final whistle it was pretty clear that the City boss was not happy with the youngster.

Speaking after the match, Guardiola revealed what exactly he had told Raheem Sterling on the pitch.




“I like a lot how he played,” Guardiola said.




“The best way to defend is to keep the ball and they did it – they controlled it absolutely,” he said in reference to the team.

“He made some movements with his legs, which we can avoid, but he is young.”




Man City along with Chelsea and Liverpool are yet to lose a game in the Premier League and it is Raheem Sterling and co who have managed to open up a two-point gap at the top of the table.
