Arsenal named former PSG boss Unai Emery as their new manager and the Spaniard has already made a number of signings during the short time he has been with the club.

Emery has brought in a total of five new signings to the Emirates during the summer and a couple of more players are expected to join in by the end of the transfer window.

But now that a lot of new players are here and some are in transit, the manager must take up the hard task of clearing out all the deadwood from the squad in order to make way for the new players.

The Gunners have a number of players who have been(to put it very bluntly) useless over the past couple of season but have somehow managed to keep their place in the squad.

It is now time for Unai Emery to clear out all these players before the start of the new season.

But what about the players who have been performing well?

One such player is midfielder Aaron Ramsey who was easily one of the best players for the Gunners during the 2017-18 season but he like a number of others have a very short time left on his contract.

Ramsey’s current deal expires next summer and he is yet to sign a new deal with the club which has raised a number of questions amongst the fans.

Is Aaron Ramsey trying to go the Alexis Sanchez way?

Sanchez obviously had a similar situation has summer when he refused to sign a contract extension and eventually pushed for a transfer – joining Manchester United in January.

But that was Arsene Wenger and this is Unai Emery.

Emery along with his advisors should give an ultimatum to Aaron Ramsey that he needs to put pen on paper to that new deal or else he will be sent out his some of his other mates.

Wenger was a victim of Sanchez situation partly because he did not have any replacement during the middle of the season but now that Arsenal have signed the likes of Lucas Torreira and Guendouzi, the new boss can be more strict with Aaron Ramsey.

Reports have it that the London outfit are also planning to make a move for Sevilla midfielder Steven N’Zonzi and once he arrives the Gunners will have more than enough options in the squad.

So with a couple of weeks left in the transfer season, Arsenal should make their intentions known to Aaron Ramsey.
