Man United will get no time to analyze the loss to Liverpool as they have to take on Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this weekend in the Premier League and this game will see the return of Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Red Devils had several important players missing on Tuesday but this time around, Ralf Rangnick should see the return of at least some of them.

The first one will be Cristiano Ronaldo who missed the Liverpool game as he was given time off to be with his family but he’s since returned to training and will be available for selection on Saturday.

Man United have also been boosted with the return of Varane and McTominay, both of whom took part in training on Thursday morning.

McTominay was on the bench against Liverpool but with Paul Pogba ruled out with a muslce injury, the Scottish international is a guaranteed starter this time around.

The Frenchman picked up the injury in the first half of the Liverpool match and after 90 minutes, his manager confirmed the setback saying: “He pulled his calf muscle and, as it seems right now, this will not be an injury like the one Fred has which will be gone in one week.

“I fear he will not be available for Arsenal or Chelsea.”

Along with Pogba, Fred is also injured which means McTominay’s return is a major boost since he along with Nemanja Matic are the only two fit central midfielders left in the matchday squad.

Harry Maguire was a dissapointment(yet again) at Anfield but with Varane coming back into the side, the Man United defence is going to look a lot more stable at the Emirates Stadium.

Ronaldo’s goals have been a major asset for Man United this whole season and with him coming back, the away side won’t be as fragile as they were at Anfield.

Yes, Arsenal might still be able to breakdown United’s defence and score but with Ronaldo on the other side of the pitch, Rangnick’s team will atleast have the ability to score goals.

UPDATE: Will Ronaldo play against Arsenal?

While Paul Pogba has been ruled out for the rest of the season, Ralf Rangnick has admitted that along with Raphael Varane and Scott McTominay, Cristiano Ronaldo will also play against Arsenal on Saturday.

He said in his pre-match press conference: “Scott McTominay will be back and fit to play. He has been training with us and will train today. So he will be available for the game tomorrow.

“The same is true with Rapha Varane. And obviously Cristiano Ronaldo is available again, he has been training with us.”
