Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is currently out on loan to Turkish side Besiktas but he is expected to return back to the Emirates at the end of the season.

Elneny joined the Gunners from Basel back in 2016 but the player is yet to carve out a niche in the first-team at the club. So in order for him to get some regular game time the 27-year-old was loaned out in the summer.

This season, Mohamed Elneny has played 18 league games for Besiktas and as per reports, the Turkish club are really impressed with the defensive midfielder and want to sign him permanently.

But the club are in a financial mess right now which is why they cannot exercise the option to buy clause in the loan contract of Mohamed Elneny which is why they have decided to sign the player for one more season – on loan.

As per the report, Besiktas will get in touch with Arsenal very soon regarding the new deal and they hope that Mikel Arteta will give a green light to the transfer.

Should Mohamed Elneny be loaned out again?

When Unai Emery left Arsenal there were rumours that Mikel Arteta might call back Mohamed Elneny at the end of the season but now it seems like the new boss has sorted out his midfield area.

Granit Xhaka has once again been reinstated into the side while players like Lucas Torreira and Dani Ceballos have also impressed during the past couple of months.

So atleast on paper, Arteta might not need Mohamed Elneny but some people have claimed that the manager might call back all the loanees since he would want to give everyone a fair chance.

Meaning if this happens then Mohamed Elneny is likely to be called back but the big chances are that the player will immediately be loaned back once the current season comes to an end.
