German side puts a crazy price tag on this world-class 20 Y/O centre-forward: Which teams can afford him?

Erling Haaland BVB

Erling Haaland is currently one of the most sought after strikers in world football so naturally, clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City have all registered an interest in the Norwegian.

The 20-year-old joined Borussia Dortmund last year and during the 2020-21 season, the forward scored a staggering 27 goals in 28 Bundesliga matches. With so many big clubs interested in him, BVB were obviously going to try and cash in on him sooner or later and now as per the latest reports, the German side have finally revealed their asking price.

The Daily Mail cites AS saying: “Borussia Dortmund are reported to have doubled down on their attempts to keep Erling Haaland at the club by placing an eye-watering £172million (€200m) asking price on their star striker.

“Haland has emerged as one of the most wanted players in the world after taking his game to the next level at the Signal Iduna Park.

“Now, Dortmund are keen to deter the rapidly rising interest of Premier League giants Manchester United, City and Chelsea – along with LaLiga royalty Real Madrid, as report Spanish publication AS.

“Sunday’s front page carried a large image of Norwegian star Haaland along with the bold headline ‘Haaland 200 millones.'”

Will Erling Haaland move out of Germany this summer?

As per the rumours, Daniel Levy wants around £150 million for the sale of Harry Kane this summer so it’s no real surprise that Dortmund have quoted £172 million for Erling Haaland.

Along with Kane, Haaland is currently the most desirable centre-forward in world football and with so many big clubs wanting to sign a striker for the new season, there’s got to be some crazy quotes flying around.

The Man City and Chelsea owners have decided to back their respective managers with transfer funds this summer but we are not sure if either of them will be ready to spend £172 million on a single signing.

Man United are also looking for a new centre-forward but we have serious doubts if Solskjaer will agree to pay such crazy amounts of money for Erling Haaland.

The 20-year-old still has three more years left on his current deal so Dortmund have every right to quote such massive sums. And since they have no intentions of going into negotiations we feel the German side will successfully be able to deter away all the major suitors – at least for this transfer season.
