Harry Kane playing for England Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has been the talk of the town this summer as he is being constantly linked with Manchester City and now that Spurs take on City in the opening weekend, the whispers are set to be amplified.

The England international returned to pre-season one week later so he is yet to join his other teammates on the training pitch( he has been working on his fitness individually).

Since he returned to England from an amber list country, Harry Kane had to undergo mandatory quarantine and he is set to join the first-team training on Friday, pending a negative COVID test.

Once he returns to training he will automatically be in contention to start against Manchester City but with his mind not at the right place, some rumours have suggested that Nuno Espirito Santo might not use him this weekend.

Will Harry Kane start for Spurs vs Man City?

Harry Kane should be one of the first names on the teamsheet and even the Tottenham manager has refused to rule him out of Sunday’s key game(despite rumours of an exit).

Nuno told Sky Sports News, as quoted: “All the players in the squad that work on a daily basis will be options for us, then it’s up to us to decide.

“First of all we have to speak[about his future]. This is going to happen today, and after that we hope to solve all the situations.

“It’s not about that (Kane’s late return), it’s about what we have to do to solve the situation – this is important.

“We have to solve it together, everybody involved has to solve it together – speaking, having a nice conversation and putting our opinions, but everybody together.”

But the biggest problem for Harry Kane will be the fact that he is going to join his teammates on Friday, so he will get less than 48 hours to understand the current environment under the new coach.

And this could be one big reason why Kane could start the Spurs vs Man City game on the bench and might come on as a second-half sub – if needed.

If the England international is not named in the starting line-up then Son will be the one leading the line.
