Earlier this week there were reports that Rangers FC loanee Ianis Hagi wanted to move out of Ibrox in the summer as he was not ready for a permanent deal.

Ianis Hagi joined the Gers during the January transfer window and so far he has played in six league games – scoring one and assisting one.

The player is on loan from Genk and the contract has an option to buy which the Gers are wanting to exercise at the end of the season due to the player’s impressive start in Scotland.

But this week there had been reports that the player has been offered to Serie A side Lazio for the upcoming season and that Ianis Hagi too is interested in moving to Italy.

This bit of news was surely a big blow for the fans since they have already started liking the player and was hoping that he was willing to commit his long-term future to Rangers FC.

Well, it seems that the fans will not be disappointed after all since the latest updates are claiming that Ianis Hagi has reassured the club that he has no intention of moving to Lazio in the summer but instead wants to sign a permanent deal with Rangers.

Will Ianis Hagi stay at Rangers?

Moving from Genk to Rangers will surely be a step up for the 21-year-old but if Lazio are really interested in signing him then we don’t think the player will be able to refuse such a massive move.

The only possible reason why Ianis Hagi might opt to join Rangers for the upcoming season and not the Serie A giants is that in Italy, he will have to prove his worth by fighting up the order.

But at Ibrox, he more or less will be a first-choice attacking midfielder under Steven Gerrard for the 2020-21 season.

Rangers will have to shell out £4million in order to sign the Romanian which is certainly a steep price to pay but given the performances that the player has put forward, we don’t think Gerrard will hesitate one bit.
