Man United’s latest transfer decision is bad news for West Ham: But is Ole making a blunder?

Manchester United are planning to offer Jesse Lingard a new deal at the club despite West Ham United boss David Moyes being eager to sign him, as per The Daily Star.

The exclusive report claims: “Jesse Lingard is to be offered a new three-year deal by Manchester United.

“The United forward, 28, has one year to run on his existing deal – and is wanted by West Ham after his superb loan spell with them last season.

“But the Hammers are struggling to meet United’s £25million asking price for Lingard – and his £110,000-a-week wages.

“Now United have further complicated that situation by putting a new improved contract on the table – worth £130,000-a-week over the next three seasons.”

Will Jesse Lingard remain at Man United?

Lingard’s career at Manchester United seemed to be finished but he got a new lifeline during his loan spell at West Ham United.

He moved to West Ham during the January transfer window and in the second half of the season, the England international was the standout performer for David Moyes’ side, helping them secure a European spot.

It was almost certain that the Hammers were going to turn the loan deal into a permanent one during the summer. But now this new gesture from Man United could pose a serious problem for the London side.

A three-year deal will undoubtedly sound lucrative but if Jesse Lingard is smart enough then he will not accept this offer.

Man United already have Pogba, Fernandes and Donny van de Beek who do the same job as Lingard so if the England international chooses to stay at Old Trafford then there’s every chance he will be pushed into the shadows once again.

At West Ham though, Jesse Lingard could be the focal point in the first XI and he will also have the chance to showcase his talent in Europe next season. So, if the Hammers can gather the transfer fee then we don’t see Lingard stay at United beyond the summer.

During the second half of the 2020-21 season, Jesse Lingard featured in 16 games for West Ham United, scoring nine and assisting five goals.
