Man City could lose this first-team playmaker to the Saudi League but does Pep have a replacement?

According to journalist Rudy Galletti, Saudi side Al Nassr are still interested in signing Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne.

Al Nassr had tried to sign KDB last summer but the Belgium playmaker chose to snub the offer and remain with Manchester City which made Pep Guardiola very happy.

However, Kevin De Bruyne has endured a tough season due to injuries and owing to a muscle problem, the midfielder has started in only 9 Premier League games, scoring three and assisting only six goals. He will be 33 years old in June and Al Nassr feel Man City will now change their stance regarding the No 10.

Al Nassr will soon make contact with Manchester City over a possible summer sale and this time, there’s a very big chance that Pep Guardiola might allow Kevin De Bruyne to leave if the manager has a proper replacement in place.

Manchester City are said to be interested in Jamal Musiala even though Bayern Munich have made it clear that he won’t be sold in the summer and if City can get their hands on the youngster then Al Nassr will have no problems in signing him.

Jamal Musiala is just 21 years old but the midfielder has already played 161 games for the Bavarians and this season, he’s netted 10 and assisted six goals in 24 Bundesliga games. Currently, he has an xG of 7.9 and an xA of 5.84 in the 1766 minutes of league football he’s played this campaign.

It will be an uphill battle for Man City to sign Musiala in the summer but if they can somehow bag around €60-65 million for Kevin De Bruyne then they can afford to offer €100 million plus for Jamal Musiala.

De Bruyne is valued at €60 million but his contract will expire in 2025 so it will be hard to quote a major transfer fee for him. Thankfully, the Saudi clubs are willing to splash crazy money and a club like Al Nassr won’t think twice before spending €60-70 million on a talented player like KDB.

Kevin has been a great servant to Manchester City since 2015 and over the years, he’s been the best playmaker in the Premier League. However, age is catching up to him and with his contract set to expire next year, this is probably the perfect time to cash in.
