Next Newcastle United manager Unai Emery

Arsenal take on Newcastle United this weekend in the Premier League and before the match, Unai Emery has revealed whether Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang will play together.

When the former Borussia Dortmund man arrived at the Emirates in January everyone feared that Alexandre Lacazzette will play second fiddle to the Gabon International.

And under Arsene Wenger, most often than not it was the case as Lacazette was pushed to the bench and came on mostly as a substitute.

But new manager Unai Emery has taken the bold step of playing both the players in the attacking third with Aubameyang playing on the left wing while Lacazette coming down the middle.

And the boss has made it clear that he will not change his formation during the Newcastle game by saying: “It’s the same,

“It’s a process to know the combination on the pitch, with different players.

“But I need and I want to start in the level, 11 players with good performances.

“And also, we need in the balance of players, when the team needs to work in the pitch to help the team to find the win, to stay with the performance.

“The reason is that I am very happy with the last two victories in the Premier League and also with the performances.

“And I want to push every player to be okay to help the team if for one minute, 30 minutes or half-time or 90 minutes.”

While this positive move from the manager is great news for the fans but it will surely not go down too well with the other attacking players.

With Aubameyang and Lacazette occupying two attacking roles, as many as four players will have to fight it out for the other two spots.

Arsenal have the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Mkhitaryan, Mesut Ozil and Alex Iwobi will be battling to win the manager’s faith.
