Manchester United travel to Spain to take on Sevilla for the 2nd leg and before this key encounter, Marcus Rashford has reported back to training.

The forward sustained a groin injury in United’s 2-0 win over Everton earlier this month and since then, he’s been on the sidelines. He was initially supposed to be out for a few weeks but it looks like the England international has made a quick recovery.

This isn’t the only boost for manager Erik ten Hag because three other players – Luke Shaw, Marcel Sabitzer and Tyrell Malacia have also recovered and reported back to training on Wednesday.

Sabitzer sustained a late injury before Sunday’s game against Forest so he hasn’t missed any matches and Shaw and Malacia’s return means the left-back issue is sorted as well.

However, the return of Marcus Rashford is the biggest positive because the forward has been the most in-form man for Manchester United, scoring 28 goals across all competitions so far this season. Since Ronaldo’s contract was terminated it’s Rashford who’s become the focal point of United’s attacks.

The England international has been named in the travelling squad for Thursday which means he should be getting a start as well. He will come straight into the left wing, replacing the massively underperforming Jadon Sancho.

Rashford’s absence meant ETH had to stick with Sancho but now that his key man is back, Sancho will be promptly pushed to the bench.

However, everything’s not sunshine for Man United because they will let slip a 2-0 lead at Old Trafford and now they will be without Bruno Fernandes in Spain. Sevilla have incredible luck in the Europa League so they will fancy their chances of knocking out the Premier League side.

Also, United will be without Varane and Lisandro Martinez which means Ten Hag will have to put all of his faith in the controversial pairing of Maguire and Lindelof.
