Patrick Vieira Arsenal vs Crystal Palace

Unai Emery was sacked by Arsenal a couple of days ago and right now Freddie Ljungberg is in charge of the side.

The former Gunners is acting as a caretaker until the Gunners find an apt replacement for their former Spanish manager and according to many people, Arsenal should go the Man United way.

These people feel bringing in an ex-player will bring back the ethos of the club and one of these candidates is Patrick Vieira.

According to Lee Dixon, the North London club should bring in the former Arsenal midfielder to become the long-term replacement for Unai Emery.

Dixon said: “I want the club to go, ‘Right, I’ll tell you what it’s going to take three or four years, Patrick Vieira, bring your people in’.

“Make it old Arsenal in that respect, that’s not so I get a job because I’m not a coach!

“But the point is the club is close to my heart and I want ‘The Arsenal’ to still be a part of the manager and I think [Vieira] is perfect for that.

“The experience level of not managing at that level could be a gamble but if I was the owner I’d be willing to put three or four years gamble on Patrick Vieira and go ‘Right, it doesn’t matter where we finish, for the next two years off you go’.

“Set the academy up and be ‘The Arsenal’ which is why they’re called ‘The Arsenal’ because it’s a special club.”

Patrick Viera is currently the manager at OGC Nice in the Ligue having taken charge of the club back in 2018. But this season has not been particularly great for the former Arsenal great since Nice have managed to pick up just 20 points from their first 16 league matches.
