Spurs or Arsenal: Where will this 26 Y/O England international play next year?

Raheem Sterling Man City

Raheem Sterling has been tipped to leave Manchester City in the coming months and if all goes well, he could be playing for one of the major North London clubs next season, as per The Sun.

The report claims: “ARSENAL are leading the race to sign Raheem Sterling in a deal that could see Harry Kane’s move to Manchester City scuppered.

“City are desperate to sign £150million-rated Tottenham forward Kane. And Guardiola is willing to offer both Sterling AND Gabriel Jesus – plus cash – to tempt Daniel Levy into accepting.

“But Sterling’s £300,000 weekly pay-packet could prove too costly for Levy. And the deal could crumble with Arsenal leading the race to sign the former Liverpool winger.”

Where will Raheem Sterling end up next season?

Raheem Sterling has fallen down the pecking order this season at Manchester City and right now, Pep Guardiola is clearly favouring young Phil Foden over the seasoned pro.

During the 2020-21 season, Sterling has started in only 26 Premier League games and most of these came during the first half of the season. He did manage to score 10 goals in the league but right now he has no long-term future at the club.

Guardiola and City are trying to use him as leverage to bring Harry Kane on board for the 2021-22 campaign but Arsenal could be a much more realistic option for the winger.

At Spurs, Raheem Sterling will have a better chance of playing in the Champions League in the coming seasons but at Arsenal, he will get a lot more game time, something which he has struggled to find at City this time around.

The right-winger’s spot is up for grabs at Arsenal but at Tottenham, he will have to fight with Son to make that spot his own.

The pay structure will also be a problem for the 26-year-old but Arsenal should not mind giving him £300,000-a-week now that they have offloaded Mesut Ozil from their ranks.

Raheem Sterling should be playing for a new club next season and we think Arsenal have a much better chance at signing him rather than Spurs – if consistent game time is what the England international is truly looking for.
