Arsenal could face stiff competition in signing Thomas Partey from Atletico Madrid since Inter Milan are now interested in signing him, as per Mundo Deportivo(citing Gazzetta Dello Sport).
The report claims: “Days go by and the soap opera Thomas Partey continues to add chapters. Now it is Inter Milan that joins the list of suitors.
“A long list in which Arsenal is especially found but in which Juventus, Bayern Munich, PSG and Manchester United are also clubs with which the player has been related in the last hours.
“From the Gazzetta dello Sport, they point out that Antonio Conte has asked for a containment midfielder for his midfield.
“Once it becomes clear that Brozovic is not going to follow next season.”
Will Arsenal miss out on Thomas Partey?
Atletico Madrid have made it clear that they will only let Thomas Partey leave the club if his release clause of 50 million euros is met.
And right now, Arsenal are struggling to gather the necessary funds for the transfer.
Thomas will be the perfect addition to the Gunners midfield next season and the 27-year-old is being eyed as the long-term replacement to Granit Xhaka in defensive midfield.
But if Inter Milan are serious about signing the midfielder then it’s a big cause of concern for the Gunners as Antonio Conte’s side can not only meet the monetary demands of Atletico Madrid but they can also offer Thomas Partey Champions League football next season.
Mikel Arteta will not let go without a fight, that’s for sure but Inter Milan, right now, are a European powerhouse and this one factor could very well help Thomas Partey make up his mind.
