Tosin Adarabioyo is going to leave Fulham FC in the summer and Premier League giants Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing him.

Adarabioyo is a Manchester City academy graduate who joined the Cottagers in 2020 but his contract expires at the end of this season and he is not going to sign a new deal. The player’s representatives have already communicated the same to the club meaning the 26-year-old is going to be available as a free agent.

Both Liverpool and Spurs are planning to strengthen their centre-back roles before the 2024-25 season starts and because Tosin Adarabioyo is going to be a free agent, he has turned into a very lucrative option.

Ange wants to bring in a central defender who can challenge Romero and Van de Ven for a start next season while Liverpool are going to lose Joel Matip so they will also need to add depth to that area of the pitch. Both these clubs will have money to spend but they will be a fool to let go of a free agent of Adarabioyo’s calibre.

Is Tosin Adarabioyo worthy of playing for a big Premier League club?

Tosin Adarabioyo had a successful loan spell with Blackburn before he joined Fulham in 2020 and in his four seasons at Craven Cottage, the defender has been a consistent performer.

Last season, he played in 25 Premier League games for the club and this campaign, he’s featured in 20. He’s someone who puts in a proper shift, never complains and since his return from injury towards the end of 2023, the 26-year-old has been ever-present for Fulham.

His tackling is not that great because in 20 league appearances, he’s won just 11 tackles which is just over half a tackle per 90 minutes but he has great aerial ability because he’s won close to 70% of the aerial battles he’s competed in.

Tosin Adarabioyo failed to break into the Manchester City first-team and after loan spells with West Brom and Blackburn, City finally sold him to Fulham. Even after his impressive performances with the Cottagers, there are major question marks on whether he can play alongside players like Van Dijk or Van de Ven, each and every matchweek. However, given the fact that he is going to be a free agent, signing him won’t be much of a gamble for either Liverpool or Spurs.

At Tottenham, he has the chance of getting much more game time but Liverpool will have a new manager in the summer so all of their players will be starting with a clean slate meaning even the new arrivals will have the opportunity to impress.
