England take on Sweden on Saturday in the quarterfinal of the World Cup and before the game Gareth Southgate might have a few injury concerns.
So before Saturday, we decided to take a look at the England line-up vs Sweden:
Team News and Injuries:
Gareth Southgate does have selection headaches before Saturday’s clash given the fact that a number of his first-team players have been nursing injuries.
The biggest amongst these is most definitely Jamie Vardy who suffered a groin strain during England’s Round of 16 clash. Vardy has been given an injection in order to speed up his healing process but the striker’s involvement in the quarterfinal still remains doubtful.
Ashley Young is suffering from an ankle issue sustained during the game against Colombia and his participation on Saturday remains clouded but we feel that the player will recover in time, given the fact that the British media has been quite calm about the player’s injury.
Both Kyle Walker and Harry Kane suffered from cramps during the last game but the medical staff have given the green signal meaning both of them will feature against Sweden.
Dele Alli has also been nursing an injury but the Spurs forward will most certainly feature in midfield alongside Jordan Henderson and Jesse Lingard.
England line-up vs Sweden:
Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford.
Defence: Harry Maguire, John Stones, Kyle Walker.
Midfield: Ashley Young, Dele Alli, Jordan Henderson, Jesse Lingard, Kieran Trippier.
Attack: Harry Kane, Raheem Sterling.
