Chelsea have been having a torrid time during the past couple of months and things hit a new low when the Blues were thrashed by Man City 6-0 at the Etihad.
The humiliating defeat means that the Stamford Bridge outfit are now sixth on the Premier League table and multiple reports are claiming that Maurizio Sarri’s time at Chelsea is fast coming to an end.
Maurizio Sarri has been one of the most stubborn managers that Chelsea have had over the past couple of seasons and the Italian right now looks short of ideas.
Rumours have it that the former Napoli manager might not last the full season especially if Chelsea cannot get back to winning ways this month.
The Blues face the likes of Man United, Tottenham and Man City all during February and if Maurizio Sarri cannot inspire his men to win these games then Roman Abramovich might very well sack him.
But the big question is, who will replace Maurizio Sarri is Chelsea choose to sack him?
Ever since that 6-0 defeat, there have been multiple reports that the Blues are eyeing Zinedine Zidane as their next boss.
Zidane has been without a club ever since he left Real Madrid last summer and the Frenchman is easily one of the most sought after managers right now.
Some rumours have also claimed that Jose Mourinho might return for a third stint at Chelsea but odds have been dropped drastically over Zinedine Zidane taking charge of the Blues.
This is not the first time that Zidane has been linked with a move to the Premier League as Man United had also tried to lure him in last year.
The Frenchman though dropped that opportunity and some feel that he will do the same with Chelsea.
At Real Madrid, Zidane took charge of a perfectly healthy squad but if he were to join Chelsea his first job will be to clear the mess created by Maurizio Sarri.
And experts feel that the former Madrid boss is not likely to take up that challenge.
