Man City managed to beat Liverpool to the Premier League title last season but this time around they seem to be struggling to keep up the Anfield outfit.

Right now, Pep Guardiola’s men are six points adrift the top spot on the table and next up they take on leaders Liverpool away from home.

Under normal circumstances, Man City should provide tough competition to Jurgen Klopp’s men on Sunday but the Citizens will be going into this match with a number of major injury concerns which could lead to the downfall of the reigning champions.

Pep Guardiola will surely be thinking of picking up all three points at Anfield on Sunday but even if they manage to come out with a point then it will certainly be a job well done for the Etihad outfit.

Man City news vs Liverpool:

City already received a big blow as David Silva is likely ruled out for the Liverpool vs Man City clash on Sunday.

Silva picked up a muscular injury last weekend and it seems highly unlikely that he will be able to play any part on Sunday at Anfield.

This injury to the Spaniard means that he joins the likes of Leroy Sane, Aymeric Laporte, Rodrigo and Oleksandr Zinchenko who are all on the sidelines recovering from injuries.

And if this injury to David Silva was not enough, City keeper Ederson limped off midway through their 1-1 draw with Atalanta in midweek.

Speaking after the match, the Man City boss admitted that Ederson too has suffered a muscular injury and is a doubt for the Liverpool vs Man City clash on Sunday.

This injury to Ederson means that Claudio Bravo will most likely play in front of goal at Anfield but some people think that playing Kyle Walker could be more beneficial for Pep Guardiola.

With Laporte still out with an injury, Fernandinho will play in central midfield alongside John Stones while Walker returns to his more familiar right-back role.

Gundogan and Kevin De Bruyne will keep their place in the first XI from their last clash vs Southampton but Silva is expected to be replaced by Gabriel Jesus on the left-hand side of midfield.

Sergio Aguero will play up front through the middle while Sterling and Riyad Mahrez play down the wings.
