When Manchester United brought in Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal last year, the Chilean was a sure recipe for success at the club.

But right now, Alexis Sanchez looks a shadow of his Arsenal self and right now he is not a first-team regular under Ole Gunnar Solskajer.

During the second half of the last season when Sanchez played poorly many people came to the conclusion that he was too tired from playing such regular football.

But even after a whole summer’s rest, the Chilean has failed to replicate his Emirates form.

Now some reports are suggesting if Alexis Sanchez cannot justify his heavy wages by the end of the season, the management might very well choose to sell him off during the summer.

And now speaking about Alexis Sanchez, Alan Shearer has revealed why the forward has failed to succeed at Manchester United.

“Sanchez said at the weekend how he ‘needs to show it right now’ — and he does,”  Shearer said in his Sun column.

He is basically the only United player who has not improved since Solskjaer replaced Jose Mourinho.

“So it is about time he stepped up and started showing the form we saw at Arsenal.

“Sanchez might be struggling at United because he has not been afforded the kind of freedom he got under Arsene Wenger at Arsenal.

“He could basically do what he wanted — go left, right or down the middle and if he lost the ball, people would cover for him. Since he arrived at Old Trafford last year, Sanchez has had to play in a more structured system — but that should not be an excuse.

“With his undoubted ability, Sanchez’s performances have to be a hell of a lot better than what we have seen so far.”

Alexis Sanchez along with Mesut Ozil was a key part of Arsene Wenger’s attack but ever since the former has moved to Man United, even Ozil’s form seems to have dipped and the German too is struggling to find game time under new boss Unai Emery.
