Rangers vs Leipzig

Rangers FC have made a superb start to the new season and much of that is because of Alfredo Morelos who has been in superb form since day one of the new season.

And this form was duly rewarded when the Colombian international received his first call-up for the national team last month.

His international debut though did not go too well as he missed an open net against Venezuela following which he was on the substitute’s bench against Argentina.

But those two games were supposed to be a small blemish on the long career that Alfredo Morelos is about to have and he was in line to feature against Colombia’s friendlies vs USA and Costa Rica later this month.

Now, to everyone’s surprise, the Colombian manager has chosen to leave Alfredo Morelos out of his 24-man squad.

After just one international cap, Alfredo Morelos has been snubbed as manager Arturo Reyes has called up Huesca striker Juan Camilo Hernandez for the first time.

Apart from Hernandez, the Colombian forward’s list consists of Villarreal forward Carlos Bacca, Yimmi Chara, Palmeiras’ Miguel Angel Borja and Rademel Falcao.

While no explanation has been provided for leaving Alfredo Morelos out of the squad but the only logical reasoning could be that the new manager is wanting to give every possible youngster a new chance.

This snub though will have little impact on Alfredo Morelos’ life at Rangers as the frontman still remains Steven Gerrard’s, go-to man.
