Sadio Mane to return to the EPL

Liverpool were thrashed 4-1 at home in the Premier League by Manchester City and after the loss, many are fearing that the Reds could even miss out on Champions League football next season.

At the start of the campaign, most pundits expected the Anfield outfit to defend their league title but right now, it seems like a distant dream for Klopp’s men.

Liverpool are currently, fourth on the Premier League table and teams like Chelsea, West Ham and Everton are breathing down their necks. Some people are now fearing that the Reds could deteriorate even more in the coming weeks but according to Peter Crouch, his former side should have enough in the tank to ensure Champions League qualification for next season.

“Just about, but they are going to have to work harder than ever to get across the line,” he said in his column when asked if Liverpool will finish in the top-four or not, as quoted by The Mirror.

“Manchester City are going to be champions – that is not even up for debate – and I cannot quite believe the turnaround from when the sides played each other in November.

“I said immediately after that game that Liverpool would win it. I was so impressed with them in Manchester, how they managed that game, but they were taken apart on Sunday.

“Phil Foden was absolutely breath-taking. Liverpool have got class but they are making things incredibly difficult.”

Liverpool take on Leicester City in the Premier League next weekend and then they are back in the Champions League, facing RB Leipzig away from home in the first leg of the Round of 16.

A loss to Leicester City could be catastrophic for Klopp’s side since the way teams like Chelsea and West Ham United are playing right now, anything other than a win could force Liverpool to slip out of the top-four in the coming weeks and then play catch-up for the rest of the campaign.

The Anfield outfit still have to face teams like Wolves, Everton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United in the coming months which is why Jurgen Klopp will have to ensure that his players pick up maximum points against the relatively weaker opponents.
