Nicolas Pepe to replace Aubameyang Arsenal EPL

Arsenal beat Everton 3-2 in the Premier League on Sunday and Aubameyang once again put his name on the scoresheet.

The Gabon international scored a brace on the night with his first goal coming 33rd minute while his second came within a minute of the game resuming after the half-time break.

These two goals mean that Aubameyang is now the joint top-scorer in the league alongside Jamie Vardy and according to pundit Gary Neville, the forward has shades of Thierry Henry in him.

Neville told Sky Sports via Football London: “That pass has happened a couple of times.

“[Djibril] Sidibe is getting caught on a high-line, on that far-side, and that Everton back-line is being a little bit too generous to Arsenal and Aubameyang… this is Thierry Henry, everything about it.

“As he went though on goal he just imagined the great French striker in that channel, opening out his body, setting it inside that far post and leaving the goalkeeper with no chance.

“It is Aubameyang. Wondeful.”

Aubameyang has without a doubt been a class apart since he joined the Gunners and under Mikel Arteta, the player seems to have found a new gear which was previously missing under the guidance of Unai Emery.

The Arsenal captain has racked up 19 goals across all competitions this season and many pundits believe Aubameyang will be key to helping Arsenal get back into the Champions League next season.

But having said that, the forward will have to do a lot more before he is seriously considered a great like Henry. And for that, the first thing he needs to do is to remain at the Emirates beyond the summer transfer window.
