Premier League side Chelsea have suddenly ramped up their transfer business and after Jules Kounde and Romelu Lukaku, the Blues are being linked with Barcelona midfielder Ilaix Moriba.
The 18-year-old is currently having contract issues with Barcelona and as per the latest updates, Thomas Tuchel’s side have made contact to try and sign him.
Chelsea News cites Spanish reports: “According to a report from Spanish sources via Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, The Blues have made a contract offer for Barcelona midfielder, Ilaix Moriba.
“The source states that Barcelona will listen to offers for the 18-year old from next week as they have at the moment been unable to sort a new contract extension for him to stay in Spain.
“So Chelsea are one of the teams looking to pound and by offering him a lucrative contract, believe they are confident in signing him up.”
Chelsea can easily land Ilaix Moriba:
Ilaix Moriba has one more year remaining on his current deal with the Barcelona B side and it’s almost certain he is not going to put pen on paper to a new contract.
Barca president Joan Laporta had claimed that if the midfielder is not ready to extend his contract then he will be shown the door.
And in a recent game against UE Olot, Ilaix Moriba was missing from the Barcelona B squad due to this complex situation.

It’s pretty evident Chelsea should have no problems in signing the 18-year-old and since he has only one more year left on his current deal, Ilaix Moriba should be available for a relatively cheap price.
TransferMarkt currently values him at £22.5 million but we don’t think Barcelona can demand that kind of money right now.
Chelsea undoubtedly have the upper hand in this one since if he’s not available at a cut-price deal then the Blues can wait for one more year and sign him as a free agent.
