Rangers FC brought in more than a dozen new players during the summer transfer window and Steven Gerrard is planning to bring even more signings in January.

And this dive in the transfer market is primarily because some of the new players haven’t been able to adapt to life at the club.

One such player is left-back Borna Barisic who is yet to secure the full confidence of the manager due to his constant injury struggles.

The left-back was brought in from Croatian side NK Osijek but he has managed to play just six games in the Premiership so far.

And some reports have been claiming that Rangers will let him leave the club during the January transfer window with the likes of Besiktas interested in signing him up.

Besiktas’s current left-back Adriano has been linked with a move out of the club and the Turkish club are reportedly looking at Borna Barisic as a replacement.

Some rumours suggest Rangers would love to cash in on Borna Barisic but there is one major issue with is bound to stop the move from happening.

Borna Barisic has already represented two clubs during the current season and if he does join Besiktas then he will be moving to a third club.

And this is where the problem lies.

FIFA allows one player to be registered for a maximum of three clubs during a single season but he can only play for two of them.

This means that even if Borna Barisic does move to Besiktas in the new year he will only be able to play for them next season.

And the fact that the Turkish club are looking for an immediate replacement to Adriano there is no way that they will want to sign the Rangers left-back in January.
