Antonio Conte took up the Spurs job last year and it looks like he is already fed up with life at the North London club. After a superb run of form, Tottenham have suddenly hit a rough patch and things could get even worse this weekend as they face Man City.
City are playing some eye-catching football right now and given that Spurs have lost their previous three Premier League games, Conte’s side go into Saturday’s game as the heavy underdogs. Anything other than a win will mean that Spurs will more or less fall out of the top four race.
A manager like Antonio Conte can turn things around but it seems like he’s already dispirited with the Spurs board and as per Ian Wright, Conte has already understood the blunder he’s made by joining Tottenham.
Speaking to Premier League Productions, Wright said, as quoted: “It’s very confusing as to where Spurs are at at the moment and him like he’s only just realising it.
“He turned them down in the summer, they were saying about him not being able to get his coaching staff, [the job] not coming up to what he wanted.

“So it’s really strange that they got Nuno, obviously Nuno’s gone, and then he’s come back and he’s still taking the job where I was thinking that ‘well obviously he’s going to get exactly what he wants’.
“But what I’m hearing from interviews and everything I’m reading from Antonio Conte at the moment, it’s not what he wanted.”
Antonio Conte has come out to express his confusion at the club’s decision to let four first-team players leave last month with just Juventus duo Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski coming in in their places.
And after this interview, it’s pretty clear that the Italian had been promised one thing but now he’s being handed something totally different.
Antonio Conte on Spurs signing young and not experienced players: "This is the vision of the club, yes. If you want to be competitive more quickly, I think you need players with a lot of experience. But again, the vision of the club is this – I understand", he told Sky. ⚪️ #THFC pic.twitter.com/IC7ZdCpcXu

To make matters worse, the Man City vs Spurs game has come at the worst possible time – for a couple of reasons.
Firstly, Man City are in prime form, having lost just two Premier League games this season and they go into this weekend’s match at the back of a 5-0 win in the Champions League.
Secondly, Spurs are in a mess right now as Antonio Conte is struggling to rotate and experiment due to the small squad he has. Teams like Chelsea, Wolves and Southampton have unhinged them with the utmost ease.
We really don’t see Conte pulling the rabbit out of the hat this weekend since he does not have too many options to fall back to. Man City should be winning this one with a lot of ease and if somehow Spurs can even manage to pick up a point, it will be a job well done from the North London club.
