Arsenal have been heavily linked with Man City’s Gabriel Jesus and as per Fabrizio Romano, the club have finally decided to make the first move.

The transfer expert had earlier revealed that Arsenal have already held talks with Jesus’ representatives and that the forward is willing to make a move to the Emirates Stadium at the end of this season.

Now, in a fresh update, Romano has revealed that Arsenal are now in the process of making their first official bid for Gabriel Jesus.

He wrote on Twitter: “Arsenal are preparing the opening bid for Gabriel Jesus. Manchester City want around €50-60m to sell Gabriel this summer, even if his current deal won’t be extended.”

Man City might reject this initial offer for Gabriel Jesus:

Jesus has just over a year left on his current deal so Man City’s valuation of around £50m seems to be a bit too high for Arsenal’s liking.

Other rumours in England are claiming that Arsenal’s present valuation for Gabriel Jesus is £20m less than what Man City are demanding so there’s a significant chance that City will push back this initial offer.

£30-35 million seems to be a fair price for someone who will be out of contract next year but since Arsenal are in need of a new striker they can go slightly higher.

It remains to be seen if Man City will lower their demands, especially since Gabriel Jesus is also ready to join Arsenal but there’s no way the Gunners will be ready to pay £50-55 million for the 25-year-old.

Are Arsenal the favourites to sign Gabriel Jesus?

In a recent interview with Romano, Jesus’ agent revealed that Arsenal are not the only club who are interested in him as there are as many as six other clubs that want to bring him on board.

Marcelo Pettinati told the Italian journalist: “We had talks with Arsenal about Gabriel Jesus, we like the project – it’s a possibility we’re discussing.

“There are 6 more clubs interested in Gabriel – he’s focused on final games with Man City, we’ll see”.

Obviously, this statement might be true but we think the forward’s agent has added the ‘six more clubs’ phrase just to put pressure on Arsenal. The Gunners are possibly the only major club who are chasing Gabriel Jesus and if they can move quickly they should be able to get their hands on the 25-year-old without any major fuss.
