Man United forward Marcus Rashford has been playing with a damaged shoulder since November of last year but he remains undecided on an operation.

The forward tore a muscle in his left shoulder but decided not to fully repair the damage until the 2020-21 season came to an end. But now that he is busy with England in the European Championship, a decision to go under the knife will be taken only once the tournament ends.

He said, as per Sky Sports: “It’s either an operation or I don’t get an operation,”

“I’m not 100% sure if I need it yet, so I’ll just take it as it comes,” Rashford told British media on Thursday. “I’ll finish strong here and I’ve got a few weeks off to just relax and decide what I’m going to do.

“The doctors have not said yet. The reason I don’t know is that when the season was going, and before I came here, I knew there was no chance I was going to be getting the operation, so I did not know how long the operation would put me out for.

“I am fully concentrated on here. When the tournament is finished, then I will ask the question.”

How long will Marcus Rashford be out if he undergoes an operation?

Manchester United are due to play their opening game of the new Premier League season against Leeds United on August 14 and he could miss the first few weeks of the campaign should he decide on an operation.

But when Marcus Rashford was asked this same question, he revealed that the doctors are yet to give him a time frame.

The England international added: “The doctors have not said yet. The reason I don’t know is that when the season was going, and before I came here, I knew there was no chance I was going to be getting the operation, so I did not know how long the operation would put me out for.

“I am fully concentrated on here. When the tournament is finished, then I will ask the question.”

The final of the European Championship will be played on 11th July and should England go all the way then Marcus Rashford will only get one month to undergo an operation and then get back to full fitness.
